Laurophyllum chubutensis was named by Berry (1937). It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type locality is Cerro Funes, which is in a Paleocene terrestrial claystone in Argentina.

E. W. Berry 1937 | Leaves small, lanceolate, slightly falcate, widest medianly and with about equally acuminate tip and base. Margins entire, inclined to be undulate. Texture coriaceous or subcoriaceous, length about 7 cm. Maximum width about 1.6 cm. Petiole stout, its length unknown. Midvein stout, prominent, usually curved. Secondaries stout, prominent, about 7 pairs diverge from the midvein at angles of less than 45°, ascend in sweeping curves and are ultimately camptodrome. Tertiaries obsolete. |
