Eurymetopum wachteli was named by Kolibáč and Gerstmeier (1997). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber (Technical University Munich collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Lemidia wachteli by Kolibáč (1998) and Kolibáč and Huang (2016).
