Taxonomy
Dermestes pulicarius was named by Linnaeus (1758). It is extant.

It was recombined as Tritoma pulicarium by Fabricius (1775); it was recombined as Brachypterolus pulicarius by Green et al. (2006) and Hisamatsu (2011).
