Taxonomy
Epuraea was named by Erichson (1843). It is extant. It is the type genus of Epuraeini, Epuraeinae.

It was assigned to Nitidulinae by Erichson (1843); to Nitidulidae by Green et al. (2006); and to Epuraeini by Kirejtshuk (2008) and Bouchard et al. (2011).
