Taxonomy
Colydium was named by Fabricius (1792). It is extant. It is the type genus of Colydiinae, Colydiini.
It was assigned to Eleuterata by Fabricius (1792) and Fabricius (1798); to Xylophagi by Latreille (1802); and to Colydiini by Bouchard et al. (2011) and Ivie et al. (2016).
