Paracacioxylon was named by Müller-Stoll and Madel (1967). It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type is Paracacioxylon odonellii.

It was assigned to Leguminosae by Blazer (1975), Brea et al. (2008); and to Fabaceae by Stiles et al. (2020).
