Taxonomy
Rhizophtoma longus was named by Peris and Delclòs (2015). Its type specimen is MCNA-9184, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Peñacerrada outcrop I, which is in an Albian terrestrial amber in the Escucha Formation of Spain.
