Thracia keaseyensis was named by Hickman (2014). Its type specimen is USNM 561781 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Columbia (USGS 15282) - Hickman (1980), which is in a Priabonian deep-water siltstone/mudstone in the Keasey Formation of Oregon.
