Taxonomy
Pulchroptilonia espatifata was named by Martins-Neto (1997). Its type specimen is RGMN-T010, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crato (RGMN/UFC collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil.
