Taxonomy
Blittersdorffia polyplusia was named by Martins-Neto (1997). Its type specimen is AMNH 43288, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crato (AMNH collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil.
