Taxonomy
Euxylophoroxylon chiquichanense was named by Petriella (1972). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype: LP-PB 9066, a wood, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Puesto Fernández - NF Angiosperms, which is in a Paleocene terrestrial sandstone in the Cerro Bororó Formation of Argentina.

B. Petriella 1972Leño fósil de Dicotiledóneas. porosidad difusa, poros medianamente numerosos, la mayoría dispuestos como radiales múltiples cortos, diámetro tangencial mediano. Elementos vasculares cortos, perforación simple. Parénquima escasamente paratraqueal a ausente. Radios exclusivamente multiseriados, homogéneos, con 1 ó 2 células diferenciadas de las restantes de función probablemente secretora. Radios extremadamente cortos, moderadamente anchos y medianamente numerosos.
