Ptinus (Gynopterus) anastasiae was named by Alekseev (2014). Its type specimen is AWI-087, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber (Alekseev coll), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Ptinus anastasiae by Bukejs and Alekseev (2015).
