Taxonomy
Tityus geratus was named by Santiago-Blay and Poinar (1988). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber, La Toca mine (Poinar coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the La Toca Formation of the Dominican Republic.
