Ischyosporites problematicus was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [Type locality: Piñalerita Creek near Sabanalarga. PaleoDB number: 28772. Paratype: UFP 15, 13.9 x 85.6. Dimensions in equatorial view.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 27, 12 x 114, a microspore.
