Taxonomy
Cicatricososporites decussatus was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [Type locality: Piñalerita Creek near Sabanalarga. Dimensions in polar view.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 44, 5.4 x 92.3, a microspore. Its type locality is Pinalerita UFP 44, Llanos foothills, Colombia, which is in an Eocene fluvial-deltaic claystone/mudstone in the San Fernando Formation of Colombia.
