Polypodiisporites pachyexinatus was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [Type locality: Piñalerita Creek near Sabanalarga. PaleoDB number: 28568. Dimensions in equatorial view. ]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 21, 8.2 x 92, a microspore.
