Luminidites colombianensis was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [Type locality: Piñalerita Creek near Sabanalarga. PaleoDB number 28861.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 37, 11.9 x 106.8, a microspore (Pollen grain).
