Retitrescolpites irregularis was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [n. comb.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 32, 7.3 x 103.8, a microspore (pollen grain).

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967 (Retitricolporites irregularis)Pollen grain tricolporate, prolate-subprolate; furrow C α 1, C β 2, C 𝝲 1; pore P α 3, P β 2, P 𝝲 2; sculpture type reticulate (diameter of lumina 2-3.5 µ). Muri simplibaculate, but sometimes not fused and, if so, the grain partly baculate. Thickness of exine 3-4 µ; ectexine thicker than endexine. Wall semitectate. Furrows with costae colpi and pores with costae pori.
