Taxonomy
Oligotoma westwoodi was named by Hagen (1885). Its type specimen is MCZ PALE-31650, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Zanzibar Copal (Drogues House Gehe collection), which is in a Holocene terrestrial amber in Tanzania.
