Hemithrips clypeatus
Taxonomy
Heliothrips clypeata was named by von Schlechtendal (1887). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Rott (Dr Frech coll), which is in a MP 30 lacustrine - large lignite in the Rott Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Thrips clypeata by Uzel (1895) and Handlirsch (1907); it was recombined as Hemithrips clypeatus by Bagnall (1924).
