Antispira praecox
Taxonomy
Antispira praecox was named by Perner (1903). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Trubská near Beroun, Prague Basin, which is in a Berounian carbonate limestone in the Letná Formation of the Czech Republic. It is the type species of Antispira.

Knight 1941 | Sinitstral gastropods without sinus, slit, or selenizone, of subglobular form and large body whorl with latticelike ornamentation; whorl profile rounded; sutures deep; base seemingly rounded, phaneromphalous; the umbilicus bordered by a sharp ridge; nucleus unknown; columellar and parietal lips unknown; outer lip oblique backwards from the upper suture; ornamentation, elevated transverse and revolving costae, the latter proceeding obliquely forward from the upper suture in a direction normal to the transverse costae; shell unknown. The holotype seemingly measures about 15 mm. in height and width. |
