Taxonomy
Rhynchites heydeni was named by von Schlechtendal (1894). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Rott (Lord Dr Pohlig coll), which is in a MP 30 lacustrine - large lignite in the Rott Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Germanocartus heydeni by Legalov (2015), Poinar and Legalov (2015).
