Taxonomy
Opacoinvolvulus zherichini was named by Legalov (2003). Its type specimen is SMF VI 145, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Rott (SMF collection), which is in a MP 30 lacustrine - large lignite in the Rott Formation of Germany.
