Taxonomy
Ardynictis captor was named by Lopatin (2003). Its type specimen is PIN, no. 3107/333, a maxilla (Fragment of the right maxilla with P4-M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Khaichin Ula II [SMPE], which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Khaychin Formation of Mongolia.
