Lokonepithecus manai
Taxonomy
Lokonepithecus manai was named by Ducrocq et al. (2011). Its type specimen is KNM-LH 49872, a mandible (Partial right mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lokone Hills 13, which is in an Oligocene lacustrine deltaic sandstone in the Lokone Sandstone Formation of Kenya. It is the type species of Lokonepithecus.
