Aktashmys montealbus

Taxonomy
Aktashmys montealbus was named by Averianov (1994). Its type specimen is TsNIGR Museum, no. 3/12676, a tooth (Left M1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Andarak 2, which is in a Ypresian terrestrial horizon in the Alai Beds Formation of Kyrgyzstan. It is the type species of Aktashmys.

Synonyms
  • Valerilagus reshetovi was named by Shevyreva (1995). Its type specimen is PIN, no. 3486/199, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Andarak 2, which is in a Ypresian terrestrial horizon in the Alai Beds Formation of Kyrgyzstan.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Aktashmys montealbus by Averianov and Lopatin (2005).
