Taxonomy

Eocricetodon was named by Wang (2007). Its type is Eucricetodon meridionalis.

It was assigned to Eucricetodontinae by Gomes Rodrigues et al. (2010); and to Cricetidae by Wang (2007), Maridet and Ni (2013).
