Taxonomy
Brachyhyops neimongolensis was named by Wang and Qiu (2002). Its type specimen is AMNH 99666, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Twin Obo, which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Shara Murun Formation of China.
