Nelepsittacus minimus
Taxonomy
Nelepsittacus minimus was named by Worthy et al. (2011). Its type specimen is NMNZ S.52404, a limb element (Tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is HH2b Home Hills Station (H41/f87), which is in an Altonian lacustrine - large claystone/sandstone in the Bannockburn Formation of New Zealand. It is the type species of Nelepsittacus.
