Taxonomy
Hanhaicerus qii was named by Huang (1985). Its type specimen is IVPP V7639, a set of teeth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ulantatal (general area), which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in the Ulantatal Formation of China. It is the type species of Hanhaicerus.
