Taxonomy
Erycus consumptus was named by Scudder (1900). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Logan's Brickyard, Toronto, which is in a Pleistocene lacustrine deltaic siltstone in the Scarborough Formation of Canada.
It was recombined as Notaris consumptus by Legalov (2015).
