Parastegosimpsonia peruana
Taxonomy
Parastegosimpsonia peruana was named by Ciancio et al. (2012). Its type specimen is LACM 150608, an osteoderm (buckler osteoderm), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Santa Rosa (LACM Loc. 6289), which is in a Rupelian terrestrial mudstone/sandstone in the Yahuarango Formation of Peru. It is the type species of Parastegosimpsonia.
