Taxonomy
Balaninus beeklyi was named by Cockerell (1918). Its type specimen is USNM 64349, an elytra, and it is an impression. Its type locality is USGS 7120, North Park, which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Coalmont Formation of Colorado.
It was recombined as Curculio beeklyi by Legalov (2015).
