Grallistrix auceps (long-legged Kauai owl)
Taxonomy
Grallistrix auceps was named by Olson and James (1991). Its type specimen is BBM-X 150202, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Makewehi Dunes, which is in a Holocene interdune horizon in Hawaii. It is the type species of Grallistrix.
