Taxonomy
Grallistrix geleches was named by Olson and James (1991). Its type specimen is USNM 386140, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Moomomi Dunes, Pleistocene, which is in a Pleistocene interdune horizon in Hawaii.
