Xenostephanus chiottii
Taxonomy
Xenostephanus chiottii was named by Simpson et al. (1962). Its type specimen is AMNH 45947, a partial skull (partial skull and jaws with right C, P1-4, M1-2, left C, P1-4, M2-3; right c, p1-4, m1-3; left c, p1-4), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Divisadero Largo, which is in a Divisaderan terrestrial horizon in the Divisadero Largo Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Xenostephanus, Xenostephanus.
