Hyaenodon mongoliensis
Taxonomy
Megalopterodon mongoliensis was named by Dashzeveg (1964). Its type specimen is PSS 21, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bayan Tsav Obo (Ergilin Dzo sublocality), which is in an Eocene terrestrial sandstone in the Ergilin Dzo Formation of Mongolia.
It was recombined as Hyaenodon mongoliensis by Lange-Badre and Dashzeveg (1989), Tsubamoto et al. (2008).
