Taxonomy
Andemys termasi was named by Bertrand et al. (2012). Its type specimen is SGOPV 2933, a mandible (right mandibular fragment with p4-m3 and incisor root), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tinguiririca Locality Sets 1 & 2, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial volcaniclastic in the Abanico Formation of Chile. It is the type species of Andemys.
