Taxonomy
Mesoplodon posti was named by Lambert and Louwye (2016). Its type specimen is IRSNB M.2169-3799, a partial skull (os- trum and facial area with vertex), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sable Superieur d'Anvers, which is in a Zanclean offshore shelf sandstone in the Kattendijk Formation of Belgium.
