Taxonomy
Lanthanotherium observatum was named by Korth and Evander (2016). Its type specimen is FAM 140574, a mandible (dentary with c1, p4-m3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Observation Quarry, which is in a Barstovian terrestrial horizon in Nebraska.
