Dichentomum sojanense was named by Becker-Migdisova (1962). Its type specimen is PIN 94/985, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Sheima-Gora (Soyana, PIN collection 94), which is in a Roadian lagoonal siliciclastic in the Iva-Gora Beds Formation of the Russian Federation.

It was recombined as Eopsylla sojanensis by Vishnyakova (1976); it was recombined as Eopsylla sojanense by Huang et al. (2016).
