Taxonomy
Colodon orientalis was named by Borissyak (1918). Its type specimen is PIN 1442-49, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lake Chelkar-Teniz, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in Kazakhstan.
