Taxonomy
Synexallerix otus was named by Lopatin and Zazhigin (2003). Its type specimen is PIN, no. 4051/150, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ayaguz, which is in an Aquitanian/Burdigalian terrestrial claystone in Kazakhstan.
