Taxonomy
Diploptera vladimir was named by Vršanský (2016). Its type specimen is USNM 570667, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Forked Gulch, Green River, which is in a Bridgerian lacustrine - large lime mudstone in the Green River Formation of Colorado.
