Taxonomy
Diploptera gemini was named by Barna (2016). Its type specimen is UCM 67624, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Anvil Points, Kohls locality 2002025, which is in a Bridgerian lacustrine - large lime mudstone in the Green River Formation of Colorado.
