Taxonomy
Heosminthus nomogenesis was named by Li et al. (2016). Its type specimen is IVPP V 17810, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Urtyn Obo "Upper Red" Beds, which is in an Ulangochuian terrestrial sandstone/mudstone in the Ulan Gocho Formation of China.
