Metaplagiolophus atoae
Taxonomy
Metaplagiolophus atoae was named by Checa Soler (1993). Its type specimen is IPS 9090, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sant Jaume de Frontanyà-3C, which is in a Bartonian mire/swamp marl/coal in the Bellmunt Formation of Spain. It is the type species of Metaplagiolophus.
