Taxonomy
Brychotherium ephalmos was named by Holroyd (1994). Its type specimen is CGM 83750, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quarry L-41 (Jebel Qatrani Formation), which is in a Rupelian lacustrine mudstone in the Jebel Qatrani Formation of Egypt.
