Taxonomy
Akhnatenavus nefertiticyon was named by Borths et al. (2016). Its type specimen is CGM 83735, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quarry L-41 (Jebel Qatrani Formation), which is in a Rupelian lacustrine mudstone in the Jebel Qatrani Formation of Egypt.
