Maofelis cantonensis
Taxonomy
Maofelis cantonensis was named by Averianov et al. (2016). Its type specimen is SYSU-M-2, a skull (Skull without mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Maoming City Oil Shale Quarry, which is in a Lutetian/Bartonian lacustrine - large shale in the Youganwo Formation of China. It is the type species of Maofelis.
